Morning Star

Finished my reread of the final book in the original Red Rising trilogy (Morning Star) tonight. The ending comes quicker than I remember it. Lots of events in a really short period where the rest of the book jumps weeks at a time.

It does maybe make it seem a little rushed. But I feel like it covers everything and we get the ending we deserve. I guess it’s more the pacing is just different than the rest of the book.

I definitely enjoyed this read through. It’s been long enough since my first read that some of the events were a surprise which was fun. Up next I’m planning on reading Nemesis by Gregg Hurwitz. I think this is the 10th book in the Orphan X series. It just came out this week and I’m still waiting for my library copy to come in. The physical book status is “on order” and I’m number 58 on 13 copies for the ebook so might be a while.

I do see that Wool, the first book in the trilogy that the show Silo, is going to be ready for pickup tomorrow. I guess that will be my next read before I can get a hold of Nemesis.

A large pipeline of books to read can border on frustrating sometimes. It feels like I’m not going to have enough time to read them all. But I’ll never read them all. There’s just too much good stuff out there. I’ve been trying to keep in mind that I always enjoy the books I read so no reason to wish for the ones I’m not reading.

Just keep reading and enjoying.
