Just realized a major drawback with self-hosted WriteFreely; the inability to upload images.

Clearly if it took me this long to notice, I don’t often have posts with images. Still this is unfortunate.

My syncing sources from here then goes out to micro.digitallyadrift.com hosted on micro.blog. The out to the fediverse.

I checked the WriteFreely site and it looks like they’ve had it as a “wishlist” feature multiple years. The ticket is still unassigned so I’m not optimistic it will get added any time soon.

This is a bummer as I enjoy the simplicity of it and the ability to self-host.

I might have to do some digging through other apps on Yunohost. From what I’ve seen so far most of the other blogging/CMS apps seem to be way overkill for how I blog.

In other news, I got kill-the-newsletter deployed on my server and everything up and running. Unfortunately it seems to be the straw that broke the vps’ back.

1 CPU and 2G ram are apparently not enough. So it’s currently disabled until I decide if I want to scale up my node size.
